The Dream has proven once again he's more than a talented songwriter & producer. His resume' is long & very thorough when it comes to artists' he's penned tracks for. Some of the most notable artists stream from Mary . Blige, Rihanna, Mariah Carey & J. Holiday, just to name a few. However, we were introduced to Dream, the artist, on his debut Love vs Hate, which to this day is a certified classic album.
As he releases, Love vs. Money, he hasn't deviated from his norm. Which is definitely not a bad thing, considering, he's an eclectic & colored artist. His albums are known to take you on a roller coaster ride in regards to the futuristic style beats & the playful lyrics. Consider he & Tricky Stewart, the most sought out writer/producers of today. Very reminiscent of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
With Rockin that Shit, getting tons of air play, the Dream won't wear out his welcome. Perhaps this might be the most personal yet, when it comes to losing in love. Who hasn't been there? On Right Side of My Brain, he digs deep in his delivery. I fell in love with a real heart breaker & there's nothing I can do, to shake her, when you're in love, you tend to think without much logic.
With relationships, we express the idea of love-making, or for lack of better words; the grind session. Its evident, the Dream is an expert. He gave us Falsetto on Love vs. Hate, however, he gives us an array of bedroom bangers, Sweat it Out, Put it Down & Kellys 12 Play.
For those who slept on the Dream, your nap is over. He surely has gained my respect. We're only a few months & a few releases into 09 & I've yet to be disappointed. This is the year for timeless music!
